Axxis Technology started life as Tennyson Holdings NL, becoming a public company in 1986. It was run as a telecommunications technology firm for many years by Ron Woss. In 2000, it changed its name to Tennyson Networks and made a major push to sell its systems overseas. The principal activity of the consolidated entity during the financial year was the development, sales and marketing of its flagship product SOX, a data/voice convergence platform which provides users with a sophisticated telephone system, computer networking and access to the internet.

However, by 2001 the end of the dotcom technology boom caught the business by surprise and it withdrew from offshore markets. In 2003, its financial difficulties forced it into administration. It then went through a series of name and focus changes, becoming listed entities Fusia 2004-2005, Mobi 2005-2009, Hostech 2009-2010, Anittel Group 2010-2015, and then Axxis Technology Group which sold the underlying Anittel business to Inabox Group in 2015.

Axxis Technology acquired ECS Botanics as part of a reverse takeover in 2019.
