This week’s Bulls N’ Bears Runner of the Week is … Peak Minerals. The junior miner acquired a large swathe of ground prospective for uranium-rutile in the West African nation of Cameroon. Yandal Resources also ran hard after a series of impressive gold-drilling hits, while other movers and shakers this week were Argent Minerals and TZ Limited.

Aguia Resources has finally won a longstanding court battle, clearing the path to first production in 2025 at its Três Estradas phosphate project in southern Brazil. A lawsuit filed in 2021 by the Federal Public Prosecutors Office with the support of local ranchers sought to block a processing license that had been granted to the Aguia in 2019, following environmental approval.

Javelin Minerals has picked up the historic Eureka open pit north of Kalgoorlie where it is seeking to prove up a theory that more golden riches may be lurking nearby. The move follows the spectacular success of Spectrum Metals and Spartan Resources. Both found multi-million dollar gold deposits about 300m north of their mothballed open pits and Javelin already has some intriguing drill holes about 300m north of Eureka suggesting there is more gold out there.

Horizon Minerals is set to take over Poseidon Nickel and its mothballed mining plant with a $30m all-scrip deal that will give Horizon a neat opportunity to commercialise its myriad of gold deposits scattered around Kalgoorlie. Horizon is offering 0.1156 of its shares for each Poseidon share and aims to raise a minimum of $14 million via a two-tranche placement at 4.5c per share to bolster its balance sheet.

Image Resources has locked in a US$20 million offtake pre-payment from Shantou Natfort Zirconium and Titanium Co, its key Chinese heavy minerals concentrate partner. The deal will provide funding to support the construction of the company’s 100%-owned Atlas mineral sands project, 170 kilometres north of Perth. Drawdown should occur in two tranches of US$10 million each in November and January.

Buxton Resources has nailed a record 124m drill hit at 16.6 per cent total graphitic carbon at its Graphite Bull project, 300km east of Carnarvon, WA. The hole, drilled as part of a 29-hole reverse circulation program, intersected the monster hit at a depth of just 44m and has extended the strike of Graphite Bull by an extra 240m outside the existing resource.

Suvo Strategic Minerals’ subsidiary, Climate Tech Cement, has inked a 50:50 joint-venture (JV) agreement with respected pre-cast concrete manufacturer PERMAcast to commercialise intellectual property for a low-carbon “geopolymer” cement product made from processed mining waste. The aim is to introduce low-carbon concrete projects and products to market. PERMAcast has supplied concrete products for many notable WA developments.

White Cliff Minerals has extended its land grab in Canada by securing ground adjacent to its Rae copper-silver project that sits in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. The project now boasts a prospective strike length of 72km for copper-hosted sedimentary structures. The company jumped on the additional 243 square kilometres of tenure identified from geophysical data that it says may have district-scale potential for mineralisation.

Dateline Resources has wrapped a net present value of US$235m around its Colosseum gold project in California that is set to churn out 635,000 ounces over 8.3 years at an AISC per ounce of US$1490. That number compares favourably to today’s gold price US$2752 an ounce or AUD$4121 an ounce. Dateline will bank a total of US$1.344b in sales over the life of mine with about US$400m of that dropping to the bottom line.

Strickland Metals has punched out more good hits at its Horse Well gold project near Wiluna in Western Australia. The latest assays have increased the strike length by 260m to more than 1.6km at the Marwari prospect while at the Bronco prospect, two new high-grade zones have been unearthed.

Suvo Strategic Minerals has raised $2 million in a heavily-oversubscribed placement to develop and commercialise its low-carbon green cement product, with the owners of WA’s premier supplier of pre-cast concrete products, PERMAcast, kicking in $300,000 to join the register. Suvo holds a worldwide intellectual-property (IP) license for its “Geopolymer” cement that is manufactured using what would traditionally be waste streams from other industries.

Reach Resources has wound up its RC drilling program at the company’s Wabli Creek project in WA’s Gascoyne region where it searched for the source of niobium and rare earths from recent surface sampling. The company launched its maiden drill program at Wabli Creek on the 4th of October and completed 40 holes for 3013m of drilling, averaging 212m of advance per day at three priority targets.

Larvotto Resources has kicked off a major diamond drilling program at its 100 per cent-owned Hillgrove gold-antimony project in New South Wales in a bid to expand the known mineral resource. The company is looking to target “near mine” areas and is hoping to follow up on a stella prior drill hit of 31m grading a whopping 65 g/t gold.

Neometals Ltd has successfully rolled out its patented lithium battery recycling technology with the opening of a Europe’s first automotive battery recycling plant by Mercedes-Benz in Kuppenheim, Germany. Neometals and its 50% technology JV partner, SMS Group, have licensed the ground-breaking technology to Mercedes who will harvest end of life batteries for valuable lithium, nickel and other metals.

Triangle Energy has cashed its first payment for the sale of its share in the Cliff Head oil joint venture in Western Australia. The $2.4 million payment from JV partner Pilot Energy represents the first of multiple payments totalling up to $18 million for Triangle who will pivot into serious exploration as it prepares to drill further wells in the Perth Basin.

St George Mining has bolstered development plans for its high-grade Araxá niobium-rare earths project in Minais Gerais, Brazil, signing a strategic development and offtake partnership with leading global metals trader SKI HongKong. The memorandum of understanding endeavours to drive development of Araxá through both technical and financial assistance from SKI.

ASX-listed Radiopharm Theranostics has partnered with US-based BAMF Health for a phase 2b trial in the US to test its “F18-RAD 101 radiotracer”. The innovative treatment targets the fatty acid synthetase, which is a protein over-expressed in brain tumours but absent in healthy cells. It uses a molecule combined with the F18 isotope to enhance tumour detection and treatment precision.

Toro Energy has begun integrating its new vanadium resource into the recently updated Lake Maitland uranium resource block model near Wiluna. The move is set to dramatically impact the company’s previously tabled scoping study on the project that will now benefit from both uranium and vanadium sales. The combination of the two resources may also lead to economies of scale when it comes to mining according to the company.

In this edition of Bulls N’ Bears Big Hits, we examine some notable drill intercepts revealed on the ASX last week, including at Argent Minerals’ Kempfield Project in NSW with its 47m at 10.18g/t silver hit. We also take a look at other interesting drill hits from last week as reported by Nova Minerals from its RPM target in Alaska and West African Resources’ M1 South resource in Burkina Faso.

Javelin Minerals has upped its planned maiden drilling program at the Coogee gold project near Kambalda in WA from 2500m to 3000m after identifying several opportunities to extend known mineralisation. The company plans to launch its combined RC and diamond drilling program in mid-November in two phases to confirm potential extensions below the old Coogee open-pit and to expand mineralisation north and west of the pit.

A magnetic survey by Carnaby Resources has found a major conductor at the San Quentin prospect beneath outcrops of up to 6.7 per cent copper at its Greater Duchess JV with Latitude 66 in Queensland. The prospect is near the 4.2 million tonne Nil Desperandum deposit and and boast some 800m of outcropping copper mineralisation that is yet to be drilled.

Red Metal Ltd says its giant 4.8 billion-tonne rare earths deposit at its Sybella project near Mt Isa in QLD is a globally significant discovery. In revealing its maiden inferred mineral resource estimate, the company also pointed to a shallow section of the deposit at surface that is weathered granite and therefore potentially amenable to low-cost heap-leach processing.

This week’s Bulls N’ Bears Runner of the Week is … Ovanti Ltd. The buy-now-pay-later hopeful is planning to tackle the U.S market after appointing an ex-Zip Co executive to drive its plans forward. Also, Nanoveu ran hard as it readies for crucial testing on its new semiconductor technology, while other movers and shakers this week were African Gold and James Bay Minerals.

Image Resources has targeted a mid-2025 start to heavy mineral concentrate production at its Atlas project, 170km north of Perth, after securing essential water licences to accelerate construction. The milestone has now offered a clear timeline for renewed cash flows - expected to be $62m pre-tax over two years - almost two years after shutting down the successful Boonanarring project, located 100km south of Atlas.

Surefire Resources has identified nine new drilling targets from reinterpreted IP geophysics data, structural interpretations and re-logging at its Yidby gold project in Western Australia’s Mid West region. The company says the work significantly complements its understanding of the mineral system and controls on gold mineralisation previously intersected by its drilling and points to potential depth extensions for the porphyry-hosted system.

Askari Metals has revisited exploration data from its Horry copper-gold play in Western Australia’s Kimberley region to whip up new drill targets after fielding significant interest in the company’s local assets due to strong commodity pricing for both metals. Based on previous programs at the site, management now believes it has the potential to reveal high-grade mineralisation via a significant exploration push.

In a stunning business turnaround, Ora Banda Mining has set a quarterly production record, delivering 24,327 ounces of gold at a grade of 3.4 grams per tonne from its Davyhurst project in Western Australia’s renowned Goldfields region. The company’s cash reserves jumped 81 per cent to $48.7 million, while its share price surged 15 per cent to a 77c high today on strong trading volume.

Subiaco-based Altech Batteries has supercharged its alumina-coated silicon anodes to boost the energy capacity of lithium-ion batteries by 55 per cent after combining graphite with its high-tech anodes. The company says the game-changing results stem from its strategy to coat silicon particles with alumina, overcoming previous drawbacks associated with using silicone as an anode material.

Latitude 66 says it has unearthed high-grade gold and copper mineralisation at its Visna and Petaja prospects in northern Finland and has also worked up multiple new exploration targets before wrapping up a successful summer fieldwork program at its Peräpohja Schist Belt (PSB) project. The company is now planning further mapping at Visna before the exploration season closes down for winter.

Thunderbird Resources is racking up the uranium targets at its Cluff Lake project in Canada’s world-class Athabasca Basin, with results from a detailed electromagnetic survey lighting up a suite of intriguing conductors that may have identified favourable geological settings for yellowcake mineralisation. Several targets sit along strike from the nearby Shea Creek deposits that collectively contain 95.85 million pounds at 1.3 per cent uranium oxide.

American West Metals has delivered more thick, juicy Canadian copper hits at its flagship Storm project in Nunavut, with high-grade assays continuing to flow from both its Chinook and Cyclone deposits. The company says its latest drilling has further bolstered the Chinook deposit’s potential as an open-pit starter mine, with high-grade copper mineralisation starting from surface at the site.

A recent induced-polarisation geophysical survey run by Strickland Metals at its Rogozna gold project in Serbia has highlighted what the company says are two targets exhibiting strong chargeability anomalism. The survey identified the Jezerska Reka and Obradov Potok targets as having bigger anomalous zones, with stronger responses than the anomalies associated with its Shanac and Copper Canyon deposits that comprise a 5.4 million-ounce gold-equivalent resource.
