Michael Henderson

Michael Henderson Chief Executive, Emergency Triage Services

Michael is the executive chairman of TRIAGE (ETS), chairman of MEDSCI International Healthcare, chairman of the International Skills and Training Institute in Health (ISTIH) and past national vice chairman of CSIRO’s Digital Productivity and Services Flagship Advisory Committee.

He is past chairman of the West Australian Government’s Technology Industry Advisory Council, (TIAC), a role that was characterized by his tireless dedication in promoting policy debate and influencing the innovation and industry agenda in that state. Michael has successfully brought industry and commerce to work together with academia and has achieved long-term sustainable outcomes in this area.

In 2010, he founded the not-for-profit International Skills and Training Institute in Health (ISTIH) which is a successful remote ‘train the trainer’ platform in social health care, focusing in neighbourhoods across the southern hemisphere. He has developed significant training Centres in Indonesia, Nepal and Myanmar (with Cambodia evolving) that have had a transformative impact on the communities they serve.

Michael has an established track record of executive leadership and innovation in producing commercial outcomes, reflected as an example in his role as Founder of a successful acute emergency medicine triage service, TRIAGE (ETS), an organization delivering remote proprietary ‘TelePresence’ patient services for the private sector, including major international mining and engineering companies.

He is a highly respected member of both the business and academic communities and was recognized with the prestigious Ernst & Young “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” Award in 2011. 

Additionally, Michael Henderson has held numerous ministerial advisory roles, both nationally and internationally, and is acknowledged for his integrity and his strong sense of public duty. He is a Fellow in the School of Medicine, University of Western Australia, a past Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Law, Business & Information Technology, Murdoch University, a Fellow of Edith Cowan University, Charles Darwin University and of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).
