About Diane Smith-Gander

Diane Smith-Gander grew up in Alfred Cove in a house built by her father with bricks made by her mother. She attended Melville Senior High School and dropped out of second year science at UWA before completing an Economics degree at UWA and an MBA at U Sydney both by part time study. Diane went on to become a senior executive at Westpac Banking Corporation and a partner at McKinsey & Company in the USA.

Diane is now Chairman of Transfield Services Limited, making her one of very few women to chair an ASX listed company. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Wesfarmers Limited and a Commissioner of Tourism WA. Diane serves on the Councils of Methodist Ladies College and Chief Executive Women and on the Board of the Committee for Perth.

Diane is a past deputy chairman of NBN Co Limited, past chairperson of Basketball Australia Limited and of the Australian Sports Drug Agency and served on the board of the CBH Group.
