Australia's unemployment rate fell to 5.2 per cent in October, official figures show.
The September figure was an upwardly revised 5.3 per cent.
Western Australia's unemployment rate also fell, to 4.3 per cent in October, from September's 4.2 per cent.
Total employment rose 10,100 to 11.462 million in the month, according to figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The forecast was for total employment to have risen by 10,000 in October with the unemployment rate rising to 5.3 per cent, according to the median of 15 economists surveyed by AAP.
Full-time employment rose by 20,000 to 8.068 million in October and part-time employment was down 9,900 to 3.395 million.
The October participation rate was 65.6 per cent, steady compared with the unrevised 65.6 per cent in September.
The participation rate was forecast to be 65.6 per cent.
