Andrew Forrest is seeking to expand his property empire in Cottesloe, with an application for a $10.5 million housing development adjacent to his historic Le Fanu mansion.
A recent application has been lodged to develop eight dwellings and a private garden at 6 and 8 Salvado Street, which Andrew Forrest purchased last year.
The Salvado Street properties currently contain six apartments each, which Mr Forrest acquired via Keith Grant & Scotty Black Pty Ltd for a combined $19.8 million.
The buildings are within metres of the heritage-listed home Le Fanu, which Andrew Forrest purchased in 2022 for $15.6 million and has undergone extensive redevelopment.
Historical records show that the apartment buildings sit within Le Fanu’s original boundary, which initially sat on a 2,218 square metre block.
Le Fanu’s current boundary, at 2 Salvado Street, is about 1,400sqm.
The apartments at 6 and 8 Salvado Street add to Mr Forrest’s substantial landholding in the affluent coastal suburb, which includes the historic Tukurua home in Rosendo Street.

The state’s richest man also owns 66 Marine Parade, which sits on 727sqm, and two townhouses at 4 Salvado Street.
The townhomes have been demolished to make way for Le Fanu’s $30 million expansion, which was approved in 2023.
Andrew and Nicola Forrest also own several apartments at 19 Broome Street in Cottesloe via Tattarang Pty Ltd.
Property records show that the duo owns seven apartments in the 14-dwelling complex.
Their most recent purchase in that building was in August 2023, when Tattarang bought 1/19 Broome Street for $765,000.
Earlier that year, Andrew and Nicola Forrest announced their separation as a couple, which they said would not impact Tattarang’s operations.
More details are expected to be released on the Salvado Street development in coming weeks, when it should be advertised for public comment.
The project will be determined at a metro inner development assessment panel later this year.
Mr Forrest’s team was contacted for comment but declined.
