ASX-listed multi-commodity explorer Blackstone Minerals, has revealed another impressive suite of nickel, platinum and palladium assays from its Ta Khoa nickel project, located west of Hanoi in northern Vietnam.
The company’s maiden drill program keeps turning up some titillating looking numbers, including 27.7 meters grading at 0.88% nickel, 0.09% copper, 0.01% cobalt and 0.74g/t PGM from 101 metres down-hole.
This intercept includes a high-grade zone at 13.5 meters grading 1.12% nickel, 0.1% copper, 0.01% cobalt and 0.35g/t PGM from 108.5 metres down-hole.
Blackstone Managing Director Scott Williamson said:“Drilling at Ta Khoa continues to deliver significant intersections of disseminated nickel sulphide and, with the recently identified potential for substantial platinum group element (PGM) credits, the Ban Phuc disseminated sulphide zone is shaping up to be a globally significant nickel sulphide system.”
Other notable results are 11.9 metres grading at 1.35% nickel, 0.15% copper, 0.02% cobalt and 1.09g/t PGM from 107 metres down-hole, including 8.8 metres grading 1.7% nickel, 0.17% copper, 0.02% cobalt and 1.28g/t PGM from 108.2 metres down-hole.
Blackstone is now looking to prepare a maiden mineral resource at Ban Phuc and is fully funded to deliver the resource through to a scoping study.
Meanwhile, the rods will keep turning with additional rigs expected to be on-site soon to drill out the known Ban Phuc disseminated sulphide zone, with the company also planning extensional drilling on newly prioritised targets.
Blackstone will also keep exploration moving forward by undertaking electromagnetic and induced polarisation geophysical surveys, aimed at generating further new targets in the hope of making more potential discoveries at this underexplored project.
