Dr Steve Burnell was appointed managing director of Tenmile, an Australian healthtech venture capital company owned by Tattarang, in 2022. Dr Burnell's professional experience spans research, philanthropy, strategy consulting, M&A, and operating global businesses in fields as diverse as marine ecology, digital health, and precision oncology.
Prior to his current role, he managed a global business, led M&A and established a new informatics and real-world data business for Roche-Genentech. He remains a strategic advisor to Minderoo Foundation where he has led initiatives focused on COVID-19, Cancer, and Ocean Genomics amongst others. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biology and a Ph.D. in Population Biology from the University of Sydney.
