Simon Mitchell is a geologist and corporate executive with extensive resources industry experience in technical and finance roles, including 10 years of gold exploration and mine development experience in Australia, Bolivia, Chile, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
Prior to becoming the managing director of uranium exploration company Orpheus Minerals in November 2021, Mr Mitchell spent over 6.5 years as managing director of Southern Gold and managing director of Asiatic Gold, an unlisted public company with gold exploration projects in South Korea. He also spent 6 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, predominantly in project finance; and over 6 years with Toro Energy as general manager of business development where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, and raising more than US$80 million in capital and engaging investors worldwide.
